Citroen DS 19M, 1968 South African RHD, manual, 1985 cc [same as DS 20].
The DS 19M [for manual] was marketed as the 3DS in South Africa, and was the standard model following the ID. The DS 19M retains the nice ID dashboard, with added switches but the specification is otherwise the usual DS - hydraulic suspension, poser steering and brakes. The cars had a hard wearing vinyl interior.
I imported this car to the UK from Germany in 2019, from the second owner, who had bought the car in South Africa and brought it back to Germany when he retired. He then had a £20,000 mechanical overhaul professionally carried out, including hydraulics, suspension, steering, engine belts and service, cooling system, full exhaust system and new radial tyres and had the interior re-trimmed to original specification with new carpets and body rubbers fitted. It has only done a few hundred dry miles since then. The car was put through the strict German TUV test and is MOT exempt.
The car comes with many spares including a front and rear screen, tool kit and detailed service history, including all the receipts from the overhaul.
Being South African , the car is rust free with no signs of welding. The underside, body and interior are all very clean and in excellent condition. The car drives very well and attracts constant attention. You would find it very hard to find a rust free right hand drive DS in this condition.
