Jaguar 340. Classic Jaguar cover and feature car in October/ November 2020 edition. 7-page feature. One owner from new until me in 2018. Genuine 23120 miles. I am a retired motor engineer of some 45 years experience and the car was dry stored for 35 years until I bought her whereupon I carried out a bare shell, nut and bolt restoration keeping everything original and all matching numbers. Total mechanical rebuild to concours standard including rebuild of engine, auto transmission, power steering, brakes, suspension, back axle. All parts parts re-plated and powder coated. Engine rebuild includes upgrade to unleaded and, of course, new pistons, bearings, timing chains, valves and seats, valve springs and guides. Similar rigorous rebuilding of all other units. Original interior with refurbishment of all wood with burr walnut veneer, new roof lining and Webasto roof recovered inside and out with cloth pieces on the seats replaced where faded but maintaining originality of the Ambla seat covers and door cards in blue throughout. Body refurbished and resprayed from bare metal with new metal let-in where necessary - looks beautiful with a deep shine in original Warwick Grey. All chrome refurbished by Castle Chrome. This is a show-winning standard car and is probably the best, most original 340 that can be bought.
